The fact that Rocksteady made their Batman allow himself to get brainwashed with no contingency plan or failsafes; is probably the biggest middle finger to his character than anything else that happen in this game.

A little detail that we did not see right away is when he picks up the gun and aims it he is shaking he is trying and is fighting back the mind control and when he about to shot he closes his eyes because he canāt stand to watch I find it a great detail

Now imagine this. After the batman boss fight batman captures all of us and we realise that none of us are infected. Squad asks for batmans help at first batman rejects but after some time he finds us and accepts the offer. Batman takes us to the batcave and shows us his contingency plans and explains the whole situation and how it happened. Also gives up weapons and tech (at this point of the story we can visit batcave for weapon upgrades and other stuff) with batman on our side, squads objective changes to capture instead of kill and batman defuses the bombs in squads head and instead of amanda we now take orders from batman. We capture each member and they all become playable. Now with justice leauge on our side we defeat braniac.

Itās scary because you think for a second that Batman stopped because there was still some part of him left, but it was just because brainiac told him he wanted flash alive. The game shows heās truly gone in that moment.
