You'll burn out wiring, coil, condesors etc using 12V on a 6V system. A lot of the slow start problems are because your grounding connections are corroded. Clean them up, re-apply tinning to the points, clean bare metal to bare metal where the starter motor mounts to the engine block etc....then try again with a new starter switch and fully charged battery. It should kick off perfect if your starter is and armature/field coils are in good condition

I have a McCormick farmall I tractor and want to convert to 12 volt. Is it possible and can you point the direction please??

Got one 6v H and one 12v. 2 M’s on 12v.
Every time I jump on that 6v H I wonder if it’ll crank all the way over, but it always does, and always starts. Lit off at 10f a few weeks back w/o problems.
I’d convert it but all original tractor that’s been in family since it was new.
