I always EQ before processing, and do Multiband Compression (Dynamic Trigger to Bass) after processing. To get rid of the excess frequencies that clash!

Great tip as always David! What about hardware? It would be amazing to see how you would do it with as many different amazing gear options as you have. Maybe 1176 with all buttons disengaged? Or tape-style sat with a Fatso?

Interesting that you advise EQ before and filter after. Why is that? Is it to remove the distortion from the lows and highs?

Thanks a lot for the eq tip, I have been using saturation as the first fx in the chain thinking that as I'm going to eq it after wasn't necessary to EQ before but what you suggest makes sense

Definitely parallel and super de-ess at 3kHz. Then low pass around 4khz
