2) To help stop a monster she believes she created. She, like Cait, is driven by guilt. Here, even from the facial animations, it is clear that she does not like this form, but this is the only option to do the "right" thing.

I'll be honest, knowing about LoL and looking over 1st season, Vi becoming an enforcer was quite literally spelled out.
Yeah she hates them and wants to stop the oppression, but she is a great field leader, has a strong sense of justice, and will likely follow the footsteps of Vander in that she will bring peace for others, despite the antagonism it will ensue. Also, this will be the only way for her and Caitlyn to stay together (Cait is not gonna abandon post, and Vi is much more willing to sacrifice).

The reason people say vi's decision was rushed is bc the moments she's really contemplating it that we see on screen are played humorously while she's drinking with that big guy and don't feel like they have much depth. If they wrote those scenes more carefully, even if they're on the shorter side I think things would have been more well received

I think the straight up gassing the people in Zaun was a bit too much, they should've done that after Vi and Cait's fight. The use of Hextech feels alright because she thinks the gauntlets are gonna solve her issues (Cait says that lmao) but gassing felt a step too far, like that's insane as a first order of business, it felt like that part was glossed over
