These Angels, or Larva, are up to 12cm big and we found them while working in the compost, so I am nearly 100% certain it is a Rhinoceros beetle. These are very helpful in your compost, as they eat up a fair share of old wood and create good soil for your garden. Furthermore these insects are just astonishing and look out of this world. We placed them in a safe space where they can continue to grow and will hatch probably end of May or early June. They dig themselves in the soil again and will countinue to grow and eat up parts of plants.
