These were useful in the old CDJ's before hotcue was a thing.

You can also save the memory cue with "shift + 2x (the right call button)" and delete them with "shift + 1/2x (the left call button)" on your dj decks. Super useful and fast for preparing tracks

it‘s also quite useful on cdjs to see how many bars are left until the drop ends

I use the memory cues as labels for mix out points or"points of interest" like start of bars when ever hot cue is on a vocal or instrument with a lead in on a bar.

And its important that hot cues on cdjs starting playback. Memory cues let you jump in songs without automatic play.

I primarily use memory cues. They are ideal for mixing styles that are fast. I play DnB, for example, where mixing on 16s is common with cut mixes into blends. Memory cues dramatically speed this up and dont clutter your wavform view as its a simple red flag

You didn't say why they were useful in their own way

I started on tracktor. So when I switched to rekordbox and found out that the hot cues auto play, it drove me nuts. So I only used memory cues

The only reason they are still included is a holdover from the old CDJ days. Why would I do this when I can use hotcues?

So, it’s a hot cue but worse?

Edit - comments in here are talking about other uses. Good info!

Are these better than hot cues in any way?

Such a dumb feature… especially when it’s the only time the bar count down works … the next cue point should have the bar count down attached to it
