Took me and my husband a long time to understand that we're both autistic and our son's low-functioning autism definitely came from the fact that we don't understand their own diagnosis...... We get villainized for not having a second child all the time we consider it on a regular basis but it's not whether or not we do it it's because we don't know if we can handle a second autistic child! Not whether or not we're ashamed of our autism... There's literally nothing to be ashamed of it's disgusting that people imply that my IQ is 147 and I do a lot with my life we own our own home but people still act like I'm a monster.... Look at yourselves before you think that because we handle more than most people do with their diagnosis

When my son was diagnosed a doctor asked me did I have gestational diabetes (I did) and did I live within 3 football fields of a freeway while pregnant (I live on the back of a freeway) they said to me it can also be environmental. Thought that was very interesting. My first son I did not live on the back of a highway and did not have gd and he does not have autism.. I know a few mums with autistic kids that had gd and lived closed to a freeway. Itโs clearly genetics but environmental can just increase the chance..
