String line stretched across the outer studs.
Then cut three blocks of wood all 30mm thickness.
First two blocks screwed to the outer two studs.
The 3rd block is used to measure which studs are too convex (bowing out towards you).
If any studs are too convex (bowing towards you) then measure how much.
Make a cut 1/3 of the way through the face of the stud or the otherside if the stud is concave.
Then get two pieces of 2'x4' (90mm x 35/50mm)
Screw them either side of the stud to strengthen the bowed stud.
Thats how I learnt how to do it.
I've also seen another video which shows a guy adding new stud all straight beside the bowed studs.
Thats probably a better idea because your tiling those walls.

Big fan I'm a tile installer from Dallas tx. 15 years experience in showers. To this day I have problems Goin with the cheap bid and then they call me after that. How do you get leads without that hassle. I have a small group if referrals of previous jobs I done and they do refer me people. But they only know so many people that want shower remodels.

Would it not be better to tie the vertical timbers with horizontal pieces so that the frame straightens out? That is soft wood and from very young trees, it will bow and bend, just support it for accuracy.
Anyone wondering, that tool she used is called a planer. They are extremely cheap and cut down to 2mm usually.

Try getting a builder to do that. He'll say don't worry luv, I'll sort that out later. And then he'll blame the disjointed tiles on the bend π
