Rules Based Traders often have everything set before taking a trade. They are following the rules established religiously. These rules weed out errors which they get to see in retrospect on each trade.
They take a trade, wait for profit target OR exit at stop loss. Learning from their errors or mistake as they refine these rules.
You will often hear them say " I regret going against my rules".
Now imagine NOT having rules to help you out. Wishes/Prayers will not bring a stock back UP or DOWN.
Even algorithms have RULES.
