Gonna be a bit long sorry! But to summarise it first so don't wast your time, great tip, use them in current projects. Very curious whats in your course, i do know a lot already so I'm not sure if this a course i need or just experience?
Would love to know what you think if you wouldn't mind honestly awnsering what you think.
long story:
Once done with school this also seems like a great course. I think you're promoting it in a super good way, you clearly know a lot about it. I learned some useful things from them now too during current project, something cant comment here but sheet metal, plastic, wood and electronics are involved (no internal hardware). Curious what the course would have that could help after since ill likely continue working in the same position.
What level is it? I wonder if its more of a basic start or able to start with all that skimmed over a bit.
Judging by these tips its not starting at 0 or anything but I've also had university classes and probably already thousands of hours on Solidworks just in school. Every project I worked on for 6 years I've done primarily in it, id definitely say I'm on a much higher level then most. My teachers couldn't help much anymore in it for a while now.
So therefore would love to know if this should fit my level? Ill list some information below. If you'd wanna give your honest opinion if it would fit id appreciate it! If a yes ill strongly consider taking it.
I will add that the lack of experience does definitely still mean i don't know everything. Not trying to come off like that. Just, if its experience i need, perhaps a course isn't the right choice at this time.
I know how to:
- make smart parts
- use pretty much all mates, mate references and anything about that level
- Photoview i can comfortably use.
- I can make parametric assemblies using global variables, design tables I've used as well
- Surfaces I've used but don't like working in very much (also not usually required. In this position as a product designer)
- I know a good amount of coding but haven't tried it in macros in solidworks yet (i know arduino which is C++ essentially, java and some others i can work with. Some might need to just refresh a little on)
- not used things like cables or more advanced simulations
- In drawings less experience but unsure how much trouble id have figuring that out (could be more complex then expected since while ago)
- lighting and stuff in photoview i have had a little trouble with (illuminating materials mostly)
- visualise I've used very little still, especially combining with motionstudies which I've also not done that much
