In France we have some criminals that are really wanted, but the gouvernement does not offer money 🤷🏻♀️... Xavier Dupont de Ligones has been actively wanted for ten years, for killing his entire family (wife and 4 children plus 2 big dogs found burried under the house) before disappearing. I'me sure he lives his best life somewhere and will never be found... From time to time some people think they have found him but it's never him in the e

It's similar in the US. I don't think I've ever seen physical posters like that in person, though maybe I just don't notice them (you do see missing people posters, though), but local news channels will usually have a brief segment essentially doing the same thing, and there's a most wanted list on the FBI's website. The TV show "America's Most Wanted" (which has been on and off the air since the late 80's) has served this purpose too, essentially telling the story of what the criminal did (with actors), and giving their last known whereabouts and so on, and having a phone number on screen to call. Supposedly they helped catch their 1000th criminal in 2008.
The rewards for the FBI's most wanted are in the millions. For local cases, I recall hearing $10,000 before, but I'm sure it depends a lot on the size of the city and seriousness of the crime and so on, and depending on the information and your relationship to the person and such, you might not get the full amount.
