I was babysitting overnight at 10 years old. I, of course, know that this isn’t the 1990’s anymore, but arresting a mom for something like this is simply outrageous!! How do we expect our children to ever learn any responsibility at all if they can’t ever leave our sides?! We’re not talking about a 5 year old!! 😮

My mom sent me at 10yrs old 2 blocks away to buy cigarettes. She would give me enough to buy me a Dr Pepper as well and I would go buy everything and walk back home. Drop the cigarettes off on the table and walk back out to play if she wasn't in the room when I got there I didn't yell for her I just went back out to play. Man this generation is full of cry babies. CPS is a mess.

At 9, I was taking the public transit bus alone to go to my before school program. My program was just under 2 miles away. My mom never got arrested for just leaving a 4th grader to travel on the bus alone. By 10, I was going to my dentist appointments alone. Had to take a bus and a train to get there. As long as I had money for my fare and the insurance card, no one questioned it. The world has really changed!

This is ridiculous. My brother and I walked out everywhere around that age. Granted, we walked together. And it was a safe small country town. But still. The problem with today’s law enforcement officers is they arrest anyone for almost anything. Too many laws. Too many regulations. It’s ridiculous.
