My island is all decayed and overgrown, with lots of little hidden spots, and yes, I can definitely see the correlation between that and the reds and blacks I tend to gravitate towards! I’d also recommend building locations based on your interests. I am currently trying to build a concert venue, and it’s really fun creating a space that feels my own instead of just cafes and shopping districts.

I never stick to a theme, like there's a kidscore type area here, a gothic place there, a space garden over there, and an orange juice stand there, there's no order, nothing's organised, I love it so much tho, the chaos matches my brain!

I have themed areas. I have a whole medieval Zelda lookin area, a bunch of fossils outside the museum, a brightly colored kidcore type area, areas highlighting the bamboo/zen and imperial furniture and a diner.
