What sets Outlaw Star apart is its deep sci-fi essence, especially highlighted in the end credits. Legendary sci-fi artist Hicaru Tanaka created breathtaking images for the show's endings. These images evoke the spirit of old sci-fi movies and novels, from a time when space travel was purely imaginative. Hicaru completed the first five paintings for the "Daytime Moon" ending in just two weeks, drawing inspiration from Akino Arai's hauntingly beautiful song.
