No matter how much they work on dl2 it just doesnât feel right
Thereâs something that makes dl1 good and they just havenât gotten it into dl2
Like the parkour is pretty solid now

The combat is also good but the zombie aspect doesnât feel as good as in dl1

The city looks to bright for it to feel dull and grim for a zombie apocalypse
Heâll even dl1 even though the atmosphere was dull and grim they still had maps like the following that were bright and lush but still felt grim
Also my main complaint of dl2 is the lighting
How tf can you have a bonfire and have the light source only be a foot away ⌠the uv lights as well they donât seem realistic and I understand they do that so the game doesnât lag like hell but idk the the lighting - the atmosphere of the game just doesnât feel right

Look I like dying light as much as the next fellow here, but even some of you hard-core DL2 defenders have to be honest with this, the second game is a complete letdown, it released in a unfinished broken and buggy state, it took them almost a year and a half worth of overhauls bug fixes and content updates just to mimic a fraction of the first game, and the gameplay isnât anything to scoff at either, the floaty parkour while looking cool doesnât make up for the fact that the map isnât memorable, the combat is still buggy and underwhelming, and the story is clearly a product of Techland firing their lead writer(over false accusations) and then Instead of rehiring him they decided to put together the slop which is what the current story is.
The game itself is just a complete disappointment, and while it is good that Techland is actually fixing their mess and not abandoning it, it does not change the fact that the game is a product of its own failure.
And before any of the hard-core DL2 defenders try to debate me in the comments(if there are any left at this point), I do not care why you think it is good now and people hate it for no reason.

Its a sibgle player game they're trying to stretch into a live service. Games dont need to last 4 years because ONE did really well. Try something new or capitalize on what works, feedback and make something new

I loved dead island and dying light. I got dying light 2 on release. I tried so hard to justify this game, and I still respect techland for all the work they've put into it, but I haven't been able to enjoy this game, like the first two, at all this year. Im gonna hold on until the next big dlc. But im feeling like its about time to move on from this title.

This does make me a little sad. I feel like DL2 gets a way worse reputation than it deserves, even after all the great updates they've released, and I think they deserve to make way more than all the other mounds of crap the other studios release.
