Heavy baits put the odds in favor of the fish. Yes they eat big rubber; but if you lose 80 percent of those bites, why do it. I had the same problem with mantas. Make em eat something different

If you’re going to set the hook pulling up on a musky u need to pull way fucking harder…. or set it to the side rather then up and you have a better chance of getting the hook into flesh rather then the thick bone on the topside of their mouth

Don’t feel bad, I think I heard your drag on the hook set, so that big musky just had some powerful jaws locked on tight and probably didn’t let the hooks get as deep, then massive head shakes right at the surface with a heavy lure.
Not much you could’ve done. You crush em more than anyone with the medussa man.
