Her honesty is wonderful. It’s just so sad that it is only now in her life that she has been enabled to say this. God bless this lady.

They regret because they end up with us in care homes and see how well most of us treats them.

I believe she's being honest because a black person seems to be her care giver... She's elderly and may need 24 hour care. And if she's in a convalescent home she probably has nothing to do and time on her hands so she may sit back and reflect over her life. What could I have done different?... Be kinder.

She must have treated black folks very poorly now that she has to pay to be cared for they are treating her with grace.

What’s sad is that when she raised her children she taught them the same, because I was a kid at the same time I remember how hateful those parents and children were! Smh

How profoundly true. Prejudice, was not allowed in my house growing up. My father was born in 1899 Kentucky. Moved to New York in the 1950's. I was born in 1952. Black people have a completely different background because of ignorance and mistreatment. Now can we all just be people. The lies i heard growing up about black people was terrible.

I wish she would have gotten more in depth of what she said in terms of her personal experience

Oh please she didn't regret treatment she said lack of understanding and the only reason she's saying it now is because she's old and have black care takers that she's probably praying they don't treat her the way she treated them Karma is a B

Look next to her, the woman smiling is her caregiver, a black woman. This caregiver is kind gentle and cares very well for her. She will probably be the last person who shows her this kind of love and understanding. She listens to her speaks to her and truly cares for her. It is through this woman that she has at her core now come to understand black people that they are not the monsters she was raised to believe they are. It is sad and somehow refreshing to hear. I’m happy for her that she had the opportunity to get it….but imagine how many of her generations she has taught the hatred for blacks that she was taught….Sad reality….

She even find it hard to say it. She start to stutter. Would like to see what you done to my people when you were young.

That’s not. You all are being ignorant. She was raised in a time where it was normal to have black only areas. No black gas stations. Very divided. So her parents taught her to be that way. When she got older and realized how terrible it was she felt bad a regrets it. My dad was the same way.

I still have a lack of understanding of white people and I'm in my 60s. I guess I will never get it.😢
