Steam knows if you abuse this system too. I did this a lot when I was middle and high school because I'd get something I couldn't run or didn't like. Steam will eventually deny your refunds if you do too many within a small time frame. I think the limit is 5 within a week or so. I know most won't do this but I know some that would abuse it as a "2-hour trial"

I agree that this would be a comfort. A broken release, it won't run on your hardware, its just a terrible game, or you accidentally bought the wrong one in a series. There's a lot of legitimate reasons someone would need fast and easy returns.

Something that not enough people talk about is that the "14 day, <2 hour" threshold is just for automatic refunds. You can still get a refund if you're past those thresholds! (Most notably with the time played.) It just means that you'll be sending a request that a human will verify instead. I was able to refund a game a few years ago because I realized it was too difficult for my liking, in spite of having 4 hours of play time in it.
