So basically it is something to put out fires because it is a plane for firefighters so the red stuff is just sand put pink.
Fun fact: It is so strong that it can crush a small house if they use 10 pounds!

It’s not fire retardant, it’s just water mixed with iron oxide, the only point of it being mixed in is to make it visible. Also, the reason it crushed the car is because the iron oxide makes it heavier and water doesn’t weigh nothing. Very great “intense” research
