for java it works randomly depending on the zombie, if you set the difficulty to hard, zombies that can get armor spawn more commonly, so just test the dispenser on a bunch of different zombies

Bro, this is not how dispensers work. They canĀ“t give armor to zombies at all. Zombies can pick up laying armor, but they donĀ“t do it often. But this works on villagers. Just without the sword.

it does work but it doesn't put all of the armor on at once, and also you need to be very lucky for this to work

on hard mode some mobs have a chance to not only spawn with armor, but sometimes have the ability to pick up and equip armor, weapons, and even totems! and yes, the totems work.
