The first shot of the stream is my favorite spot, which I felt as if I were back in Japan in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. The Sun was gently smiling through the leaves and little purple flowers on the bed of moss by a small stream of water. No single element was overpowering the others - there was harmony. It was like one of those moments where a Japanese poem "haiku" would be written.

As you may already know, the moment cannot last forever. I only took a couple of shots of the stream and left hurriedly, as I saw more people coming from behind us. I was hoping I would have another chance to film on the way back. Sadly, the atmosphere I had felt earlier was gone when I came back later.

My lesson here is to grab the opportunity at the time it appears - no procrastination. If you hesitate, you may lose it forever.

普段から日本の美しい自然を見ている日本の皆さんには分からないかもしれませんが、私はこの湖に流れる小川を見つけた時は舞い上がりました。まるで日本にいるような気分。壮大で荒削りなカナディアンロッキーの真っただ中に、こんな俳句を詠みたくなるような風景を見つけられるなんて、天にも昇るような気持ち。
