for the people in the comments saying its Big4 now..if we are talking about the financial status of the kpop companies we could say Hybe,SM,YG and JYP are the biggest as of now..but Big3 are given that title for a reason..first of all they weren't given that name just yesterday..its been years since they are called as this..SM,YG and JYP are the Big3 of KPOP and will remain so..its because they were given that title based on the contribution they have given to kpop since the first gen..these 3 companies laid a great foundation for KPOP and helped structuring and popularizing it..all the companies today including Hybe arised from this foundation that the SM,YG & JYP Ent set..financial status may change by time but the legacy since the first gen wouldn't..thats why Big3 would always be SM,YG and JYP

It's Big3 guys not Big 4 because of the number of groups and context they hold over Kpop for a long time. In Hybe, one of the only groups enought to claim has a higher status and social values is BTS. Yes there's seventeen but they're not made by Hybe, they're just owned by them now. SM, JYP, YG made anomalies and trendsetters for generations like Bigbang, SNSD, SES, Boa, Shinwa, G.O.D., epik high, shinee, fx, Super Junior, Exo, TVXQ, HOT, 2ne1, BP, iKon, Winner, Akmu, Sechs kies, 2pm, Rose, Twice, Wonder girls, Day6, Miss A, Se7en and more....
The number of groups they've individually produced and the content they have in market for more than decades is what makes them Big3, not the economic standing as of now. Maybe there'll be a day when Hybe would do it but it's mainly bighit, the subsidary of Hybe that has done the most till date.
