I absolutely believe that the same relationships we have now can endure into eternity with us. I believe that the Savior is taken out of context in those verses, usually.
Modern-day revelation confirms this as well, but the fact thar they were asking the question signifies that they culturally believed in both a physical resurrection and the continuation of the family beyond death. Unlike the oral law, this teaching seems to go back to the fathers. Why promise Abraham that through his seed all nations of the earth would be blessed if there is no relation to them after death?
