I love how her excitement perfectly encapsulates how a kid would feel who just got the note out. I love her smile while imitating the kid, because it looks exactly like how I was when I played my first note on flute ❤

The patience of a band director is beyond comprehension. To all school boards, if you have one that gets this excited... you pay them extra and never let them go. Your student body will reflect their enthusiasm is 3-4 weeks!

I love the perseverance. Four weeks of trying to get a single note and he got it.

Hi Mrs.Allen! I have been playing trumpet for around 4 years now and I remember my first week's like it was yesterday I struggled so much to get the middle G out, but around 3-4 weeks later I figured it out! This perfectly captures how it feels to be a trumpet player with higher notes. Now I am playing that not an octave higher, and heading to NC all district hopefully in January. This channel brings me so much joy watching your recreations of a band director. It is my dream to have the same career as the people who teach skills many different people who have to learn such diverse things. Thank you for all the musical tuition you give and the students you raise from the ground up. 😁

You seem like a rlly good teacher! My old teacher told my friend to just try harder even though his trumpet was broken and dented after years of use in the school industry, and told me to push harder when my case for my clarinet came broken from the schools instrument rentals. Glad your actually trying to help the kids!

First. I love your videos! I play the flute, we have a terrible band director who just yells at us all the time but I enjoy playing the flute!

What my band teacher taught me when i was struggling with a G is to put both of my feet up.

I never saw how the other kids would struggle that much to get out those lower notes. It seemed like the director would tell me to play a not then i would miss the partial and fix it. I remember learning the c major scale like the first week and doing pretty good. Good for an 11 year old

It’s been over 3 years since I had that moment of pride, being able to move up from a C. I was so fortunate to have an amazing beginning band director that set the foundation for me to end up as the section leader of the trumpet section at the middle school level. You seem exactly like that director I started out with. Please keep it up Mrs. Allen, the world needs more beginning band teachers like you. Thanks for everything that you do!

This is what happened to me with the trumpet now I play the euphonium and it's the best thing that's happened to me because now I'm a number 1 winning solo ensemble winner 4x in a row since switching and also now I play the tuba starting to play the French horn

This seems accurate 😅 I personally play bass clarinet (switched from Bb) but the trumpet players I’m around definitely started off like this. Keep up the good work! I love these videos

Trombonist here (obviously) and the first time I played a C above the staff, my nose bled EVERYWHERE. 4 years later, I made first chair in a jazz band where the audition music started with an A two octaves above that. One day you just get it.
