I'm just now readinf the gospels again after having read the whole old testament and the rest of the new testament and I can definitely attest that the difference is huge. Just understanding references and symbols alone is massive.

This the very best explanation ever, in my opinion. This is exactly how I read the bible. I'm a curious person by nature. I thoroughly enjoyed the reading the Old Testament. Then my mind was blown when I started coming to bible study.

Very nice. I’ve been using “miyagi” as a verb to describe how I raised my brothers and kids… never put it together with scripture but it’s so obvious now that you point it out. I’m gonna use this gold nugget a lot now ❤

For teenagers, I compare it to the climactic scene with Tony Stark in Avengers End Game. If you watch only that scene, you don’t get it the same way. If you watch only that movie, you can say you understood why he had to make the sacrifice and still don’t have all the background of the other movies or comic books to appreciate the depth of meaning.
