FISH CURRY
Ingredients
For Marinate Rahu Fish pieces- 500 gms
wheat flour - 2tbsp
Red chilli powder- 2 tbsp
Red Kashmiri Mirch Powder - 2 tbsp
Haldi Powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- to taste
Lemon juice- 1 and 1/2 lemon
For Fish Curry
Tomato - 3 No.
Green Chilly- 4-5 No.
Ginger - 3-4 Inch
Garlic- 6-7 no.
Mustard Oil- 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
Jeera- 1/4 tsp
Lal Mirch Powder- 1/2 tsp
Dhaniya powder- 1 tsp
Haldi powder- 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri Lal Mirch- 1 tsp
Besan- 1/2 tbsp
Curry Patta- few Salt to taste
Kalongi- 1/4 tsp
Water- as per requirement Chopped Coriander leaves- few
Coconut Milk- 1/4 cup
Method
• Clean Fish thoroughly
• Rub dry wheat flour on it and wash it to remove any fish smell
• Make marinate, in a small bowl
Add Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
Red Chilli Kashmiri Mirch Powder 2 tbsp
Haldi 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon juice of 1 and 1/2 lemon
• Mix all well to make a smooth paste
• Apply Marinate on to the fish by gently messaging the marinate paste on each piece
• Keep it aside for 15-20 min to marinate
• Shallow fry fish pieces in a pan in hot mustard oil
• To make Fish Curry, take same pan in which you have shallow fried Fish
• Add 2 more tbsp of mustard oil in it
• Add -
o Mustard seeds
o Jeera
o Red chilli powder
o Dhaniya powder
o Haldi powder
o Red Kashmiri Mirch powder
o Besam
• Mix all masala well
• Add Curry Pata and 2 slit green chillies
• Grind Tomatoes, green chillies, garlic and ginger in a mixer grinder and make a smooth puree
• Add tomato puree in the Pan and mix well
• Add Salt to taste
• Cover the Pan and keep it on low flame till all masala releases oil
• Add Kalongi in it
• Add hot water as per the gravy consistency required and let it boil
• Cover the Pan and keep it on low flame for 2-3 min
• Add chopped coriander leaves and coconut milk
• Mix well and cover for 2-3 min on low flame
• Now add Fish pieces gently and cover for another 3-4 min
• Remove on serving plate and enjoy with Rice or Bhakhri
