Fun fact Mahishaasur is worshipped along with Goddess Durga during Durga Puja. This is because while dying, mahishaasur asked Durga to allow him to be worshipped after his death, which the goddess did as a boon. I cannot explain the full story, watch Mahalaya to learn more.
