Hilarious video on American history that led to it's independence! Not only are you and Gordon so informative but that you both do it with such great humor as well. Ever since I've watched your Boston videos, I've gone back to re-watch your Southeast Asia videos as well. Thank you Renata and Gordon!

Just a note from his comment at the end about rum. In the 1700's most Americans drank rum, rather than whiskey. Beer was still relatively rare. Molasses was imporyed from the West Indies in exchange for American goods in part of the famous triangular trade between the West Indies, the American Colonies and Great Britain. The Americans were not only upset by the taxes on tea but also those on rum (and many other items of daily use). They never had any power to approve or disapprove any of those taxes. The popularity of whiskey starting in the late 1700's came from its domestic production from American grown grains so it was not subject to tariffs as molasses from the still British and French West Indies colonies. Despite all of this rum is still popular in America. Though we certainly don't drink it every day like coffee, or even tea.

Just a quick video to make you laugh 😁😉. The full vlog is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPJFrTUoo6o. After editing, we researched to find out why coffee became popular in America, and guess what? That was really the reason! 😮😱 The next video in Boston is coming up in a couple of days. Enjoy your week
