Delaware governor: Slavery is cool and all but I got a state reputation to uphold

That answer from the governor of Delaware was epic!

I have lived in Delaware for most of my life. The division between northern and southern Delaware still exist today. The DuPont company played a major role in Delaware. Many major roads and hospitals here are named after the company and family.

That governor was a W, he put aside his feelings about slavery and put the union first!

Not gonna lie, the governorā€™s response is actually epic. It also shows that alongside the fight to end slavery, there was also the fight to keep our country together.

ā€œAs the first state to join the union, Delaware will be the LAST state to leave it.ā€ was the best quote that could have been used in this situation.

Thatā€™s the coldest line from a governor everā€¦ except when Arnold said ā€œIā€™ll be backā€ šŸ„¶šŸ„¶

The DuPonts made their money mainly in producing gun powder from the Revolutionary War onwards through the Civil War. Itā€™s how they got so rich and powerful in such a small state

You gotta love someone who loves their country more then their property.

Well thank you so much Delaware and the very few people that were there at the time. Very few people who are still there today. Thank you so much Delaware!

Yeah, that adds up seeing her Delawareā€™s only claim to fame is being the first state to join the union that makes sense

Thatā€™s a lot of likes. Thank you.
