As someone aspiring to pursue a Ph.D., I am, in truth, struggling. Academia seems to be more corrupt than politics. The way they act and treat people is in direct contrast to their public beliefs. Corruption and abuse of power seem to be the norm. Research seems to be getting $ to prove what they want to be proven. So much research seems false and then redundant. This is incredibly disheartening.
