Let’s also be mindful of some points of tension that might point to being off track.
1. Constant frustration - Is this a divine discontent that we mentioned early or is this the constant frustration of pressing into something that is not for you?
2. Lack of peace - Do we feel unsettled in our heart? Does our pursuits just not feel right?
3. Spiritual dryness - As we venture further and further into our pursuit are we feeling further and further away from God?
4. Missing fruit - Maybe my favorite and more powerful word in discerning anything is, judging the fruit. I use this to weigh so many things while I’m on my earthly journey. Good trees bear good fruit, bad trees bear bad fruit. What kind of fruit is your pursuit bearing? Let’s keep in mind quite often good fruit doesn’t just mean money or radical salvations left and right. Often times the fruit is humble, quiet and seemingly uneventful to the naked eye. But powerfully profound in the spirit. Use your eyes of the spirit, guided by the Holy Spirit to ask and see what the real fruit of your pursuit is having. Maybe you do not think there is fruit at your current job, but the Holy Spirit might show you that just your mere presence in that job is cultivating and releasing the angelic. Maybe the ground is being tilled powerfully by you just being there day after day and being prepared for a move of the spirit that will resonate for 100 years in that company
