From the " My Heart Will Triumph " by Mirjana of Medjugorje
On the contrary, Our Lady has taught us that the blessing of Jesus only comes through a priest. “Their hands are blessed by my Son,” she said, and she often repeats that our priests do not need our judgment; they need our prayers. Many people abandon or reject faith because they find fault in a priest, but this is only an excuse. God will judge priests on how well they carried out their missions and He will judge us on how well we treated them. St. Francis of Assisi held a similar view. When parishioners from a nearby village complained to Francis that their priest was living in sin, he went with them to their village. The residents expected Francis to admonish their wayward shepherd, but instead Francis got on his knees and kissed the priest’s hands. “All I know and all I want to know is that these hands give me Jesus,” said Francis. “These hands have held God.”

Nobody's perfect, but the difference between an imperfect heterosexual couple and an imperfect Same sex couple is one has a structure founded biblically. By nature a heterosexual couple can live perfectly. While none of them will, they at least reach for that. While a same-sex couple, no matter if everything else is perfect in their relationship, according to God, the foundation of their relationship will never be perfect. As God said, it is an abomination. And the church supporting that is essentially saying the church supports imperfection.
Everyone should be understanding that imperfection exists and everyone has imperfections. But no one should be okay, nor should anyone be supportive of imperfections. Especially not an organization founded upon striving to be perfect like God.
Hope this clears things up.
Your resident Theologian

If they seek a blessing as a unit doing what they’re doing. Doesn’t that give some kind of credence toward, or willful ignoring of, the reason(s) for that union not being acceptable in the first place? This might be a misunderstanding on my part, but the position sounds parallel to: Well, all kids are going to have sex anyway, so give them condoms and cautious advice about what to do (and give a nod of acceptability because of futility). Should we forget the very judgmental and constricting Matthew 7:13-14 then?

PETER KREEFT " BACK TO VIRTUE"
There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done’, and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done’ (The Great Divorce).
"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your kind spirit guide me on ground that is level."
[Psalms 143 : 10 - 10]
