Petra is a famous archaeological site located in the desert in the southwestern part of the Jordan. A city founded in 300 BC. e., was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom. Thanks to the numerous tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone rocks, Petra was called the "Pink City". The only way to get here is through the narrow Siq Canyon. Among the sights of the city stands out the temple of El-Khazne ("Treasury"), 45 m high, elegantly decorated in the Greek style.
