As a fellow West Indian .. I understood everything he was saying.. If you grew up in a West Indian household.. you can easily switch the accent..

Belizean English is its own unique subset of the English language, just like U.S. English, Australian English, and UK English. It carries its own rhythm, vocabulary, and cultural nuances.

Context can easily be lost if you're unfamiliar with the pronunciation, idioms, or cadence unique to Belize. It's more than just words—it's an expression of identity, history, and community.

When you hear it, you’re not just listening to English; you’re experiencing a distinct cultural flavor.

As Black people we do the same thing Shyne does. We all change our accents depending on who we are talking to. It's not like Shyne isnt from Belize. He was just raised in Brooklyn so he's able to change his accent when he's talking to the Belizean people and when he's talking to Americans.

I was born in Jamaica but moved to England when I was very young.

Non-Jamaicans never believe that I was born in Jamaica and almost my entire life, I've been told that I dont sound Jamaican.

Jamaicans ALWAYS know that I'm Jamaican without me even telling them. And even people who previously told me that I don't sound Jamaican have told me that I do sound Jamaican when they heard me speak to other Jamaicans, even though I speak English and not Patois.

I'm Midwest (Southeast, MO) I lived in San Diego via military. For years, back home, people said I talked like a white boy. You adapt to where you are actively at if you're there for years, speech especially. Now, especially drinking, my speech goes from country to proper according to who I'm talking to. I've noticed that in alot of people from different States and countries. Plus, I'm well read and can write, straight A's in English. It's natural unlike an actor, they train and practice. Example, like a mad Hispanic woman! Start off with English and end up with Spanish the madder she gets! ❤ Native tongue people. 😊 Adaptability!!
