I'm in academy now, and no offense is intended towards any sworn officer since you all have valuable experience...however...
A number of officers we've encountered are out of shape, which is not ideal for those who need to be prepared to run across campuses.
One even admitted that they'll take turns sleeping where there is no camera, and that if they seize contraband like stingers, they'll throw it in the trash and tell the inmate it's there so they can go dig it out if they want to without directly saying it.
So while tenured officers might look down on rookies, some of them are getting beyond their prime and are just going through the motions doing their own thing.
