Corbin's Treehouse (www.corbinstreehouse.com/) that I lived in for 5 years, which fell down a while ago. The walls remained in the trees until some time last year when they too fell down. Here's a walk around video.

I assume this may have been due to a lack of expansion joints. If the treehouse was bolted to different trees and the trees swayed in the wind, then very powerful forces would break most any building material. The engineering term is over constrained. Many bridges are built with a roller on one end so they can expand and contract.
