Sounds like a lot of ways to for things to go wrong instead of just a motor and switch, there's probably thousands of lines of software, multiplex wiring and the likelihood that you get in a accident looking for the submenu where the wiper controls are. I'd love a tesla with manual wind-up windows, door locks and just basic electric motor controls with regen, image how trouble-free it would be and how many decades it would last.
