You got this Barry, won’t be easy at first, then a time will come and you’ll question why you ever took it up.
I started in my teens, by my late thirty’s I was ready to give up, stopped and started for another ten years, always making excuses, I’ll only smoke socially, I’ll only smoke on holidays ( I stared going on lots of holidays ), I’ll just have one. Then one day I conceded I needed to rethink my addiction, began to tell myself, (I’m a smoker who chooses not to smoke! ) After that I never suffered any guilt or shame if I had one here or there. Over time the novelty just wore off, it’s been over ten years now, if I do ever have one it’s now just a great reminder of why I stopped, they absolutely taste disgusting and the buzz is nauseating 🤮 I’m now in my early fifties, with a new challenge to stop drinking, I’m in my tenth week of sobriety, it’s going about the same as my quit smoking adventure, one day I’ll get there, so I’m applying the same mind set, I’m a drinker who chooses not to drink! I got this 😅
Again, I’m rooting for you Barry, it’ll be one of the best life choices you ever make

I smoked a pack a day for 16 years and had the same thought one day. Haven't looked back. Best of luck man.

By the way, I always hated the Canadian cigarettes and the big pictures and warnings they put on them. Did like that they had 25 cigarettes though.
