i must say Faye, you're adapting to the YouTube Shorts format nicely! you've already got the style of the video shorts down, including the subtitles and the perfect loop. since many people watch shorts first before longer videos, i suggest you make a Shorts version for your longer videos once they drop, as sort of a promo trailer for them. i'm proud of you and i'm excited to see more of this series!! ๐๐

And itโs important to note that prices in Australia are a lot different to other places in the world! Remember that au dollars have a lower value than US dollars. You can use conversion apps and websites online to figure out how much something costs here in your native currency :). I live in QLD Australia!

As an Australian, i'll be honest- places like Sydney and Melbourne are crazy expensive and sometimes overrated. Some families have to live almost 45 minutes out of the city to afford paying houses. There are other cities which are great too- like Perth since you can find great houses nearby and the city might only be under 20-30 minutes away at max- that's just my personal opinion.

Rent in Melbourne has gone up tremendously post COVID-19. In 2021 when there were no international students, you could find a 1 bedroom studio w/ an office, washing machine & car park for $350-400AUD. Due to the fact our universities rely on attracting wealthy international students, renters in the area often price gouge and make it very inaccessible for non-wealthy Melbourninans to live in the city.
For context a 3 bedroom house with a large backyard that is only a 25 minute train ride from the city and universities, will typically cost around $300-400 a week. Would personally rather split rent whilst living in a larger space, and have the ability to own pets, then pay $500+ to live in a shoebox in the city with no personal ammenities.
