People think that low carb or low fat matters when it doesn't what those diets are actually doing is making u pay attention to what u eat things high In carbs, fats or sugars often are also very calorie dense example pizza very very high in carbs also very high in calories

Which is why when u start and stick to one of those diets u notice weight loss because ur intake of calories is less than ur expendedure
