Problem with unions is that they often have long layoff periods between jobs making those benefits moot

I don't know what happens with Debbie's job and the union but I will say this, unions have done a lot of good in the past say 70 years. That being said though, in the year of 2024 unions have devolved into only the higher ups of unions getting 7-8 figure salaries and not doing much of their jobs while taking a portion of money from the workers they'resuppose to represent. They call them "union dues" but it really is more like mob tactics. Also, as someone who use to be apart of a grocery union, they protect the bad workers just as much as the good workers. Had a coworker call off at least one a month for a year and never got fired. Instead he got a promotion. So I don't know how this worked out but I hope for Debbie that it did. Despite her being a horrible person lol
