There's a rubber o ring in there. Pretty sure that's what failed. It appears to be coming from the seam where you screw off the cap to the electronics components. Just replace the o ring.

You can use a polythene bag to fix this leakage, I just watched a video of it, it really works, unfortunately I lost my sensor rubber so it doesn't work for me but in your case it will definitely work
