Sorry for your bad luck. I just installed one of those on my layout. I didn't notice any gap or spring issues with mine but I will keep an eye on it.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I noticed the point gap right off, first thing. Not good!

I have used Peco all my modelling life. I don't usually get hung up on British made but the Peco trackwork, made down in Devon, is always the best.

Walther's code 83 is all I have and use on my model railroad. It fills a 22'x36' room above my garage. I have had some issues with their turnouts but nothing that can't be fixed. My YouTube channel is The Santa Fe Mid-Texas Division Model Railroad.

Ok I agree with the curved turnouts, but I had to return 5 defective Peco Unifrog turnouts, so I switched to Walthers , I guess Atlas is next , or hand laid turnouts

Peco is the way to go. 98% of my turnouts are peco. I have a couple atlas long curves that I use with tortoise machines. Not bad but not as good as peco either

I have 50+ Walthers turnouts. None have the issues you describe. Unfortunately I agree about the packaging.
