My criteria for this video was to find the top 3 saltiest legendary creatures on EDHREC, but of course, just being salty and legendary doesn’t mean your deck is any good. Personally, 2 of these 3 legends are genuinely awful in the Command Zone haha.

Here’s the list of Commanders in the top 100 saltiest cards as of 2023, along with their score and rank:
Hokori, Dust Drinker: 2.32, 20th
Urza, Lord High Artificer: 2.18, 31st
Sheoldred, the Apocalypse: 2.14, 34th
Emrakul, the Promised End: 2.13, 36th
Grand Arbiter Augustin IV: 2.09, 39th
Sen Triplets: 1.97, 53rd
Toxrill, the Corrosive: 1.94, 57th
Edgar Markov: 1.94, 58th
Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant: 1.88, 64th
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite: 1.84, 68th
Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines: 1.83, 71st
Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice: 1.82, 72nd
Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider: 1.79, 80th
Narset, Enlightened Master: 1.78, 82nd
Korvold, Fae-Cursed King: 1.77, 87th
Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow: 1.75, 89th

If a mono-blue player can cast a 10-mana commander, and their opponents didn’t hold something to deal with it immediately, the Jin-Gataxis player deserves to win… or more accurately, the opponents deserve to lose.

I love how the typical negotiations go for Vorenclex. If a player offers to remove Vorenclex: they'll often ask for immunity from the rest of the table just to deal with it.

How the hell is grand arbiter Augustin not there he’s cheaper by a long shot fucks everyone’s mana bases and lets you storm off

Play instant speed removal guys. If you are letting people play 10 mana commanders with impunity then it is your fault.

Here's the thing, every time i have my Jin Gitaxias enter the battlefield, there's always at least one person with a reliquary tower or thought vessel, and it ends up making him look less impressive than he usually could be.

For my playgroup it's been Savra, Queen of the Golgari built around the Black half of the card (forcing Grave Pact effects). So obnoxious since it has Green to keep it protected and keep wiping the board.

Not surprised that a couple of the OG Praetors made the list and of course our goddess, Tergrid, hallowed be her name.

I'm surprised to not see Toxril on this list

Maybe like 10 years ago they would have made me salty. I understand tegrid but the others are too slow nowadays. If someone managed to kill me with the other two I would have to shake their hands.

In a commander game a purposely missed a land drop turn 2 so i could discard gin gitaxis and then reanimated him turn three the look on the other players faces was priceless

Common theme: these are all ridiculously mana intensive. Play removal!

I like to joke that I have a casual Tergrid deck, it's a deck where you just casually watch me take all of your stuff, did I mention it's a deck that forces my opponents to constantly discard and sacrifice things😂

That Vorinclex is salty for sure, but I did have an opponent cast Emrakul to steal my turn while they had Vorinclex out. I was able to lock down my lands in response and untap again on my new turn. Funny nonbo in their eldrazi deck. I was playing a walls deck and they were not able to attack with my walls. I killed them with Assault Formation on my new turn.

I love using Jin-Gitaxis in my Sedris deck. Entomb, reanimate turn 2. Although 9/10 times I play oppressive cards like this with a table that doesn't like them, I'll go by the tourny rule of "you're in charge of your own triggers" and "forget" Jin's 2ne ability

I love playing Tergrid, I love casual salt

a few times ive managed to deal with vorinclex by a swords or path, and the best part is i would tap the 1 white mana before vorinclex resolved, so i didnt have that land locked

Salt-inducing cards usually paint a target on the caster, and come back to bite them. Especially global hose effects which inspire brief opposing cooperation to take you or your card out. Even if you’re not a threat, a global hoser is regularly not worth the extra attention.

Vorinclex isn't technically a Mana Doubler, but rather a Mana Adder. His utility drops the more Mana Multipliers you have on the field.

I had a blast playing my Sedris Reanimator deck against my friend's Tergrid. We had so many triggers going off in one turn that we couldn't figure out the proper order, but the only one that REALLY mattered... was my Flayer of the Hatebound. No, no, Tergrid, I decide what comes back, how, when, and IF it stays.
