Very well put. I might add one caveat - it IS best to stick with one DAW for home recording, for sure. I use Logic Pro. But for live performance, one DAW might night fit all - I use Ableton Live for live backing tracks, running DMX lights, sending patch changes to MainStage, and sending patch changes to my HX Stomp. For live stuff, Ableton is very, very tough to beat. Extremely robust and CPU friendly.
