Even 5 minutes while you eat is more than okay, we made it a habit for us to talk while im eating lunch with him. I leave my phone in the kitchen and talk to him while im giving thanks for the food. He has told me that he doesn't mind that I eat while talking to him because "I was the one who gave you the food" and he is strict to leave my phone in the kitchen but he always proves that is better talking to him than my phone
