It’s heartbreaking. It’s incidents like this that can cause the deaths of black bears unnecessarily. Black bears are generally more passive and usually just turn and go in the opposite direction of humans in an effort to avoid any confrontations. This incident could easily have gone wrong causing the bear to get euthanized for entering a ski lodge which could be viewed as aggressive behavior were the true facts not known.
