Black Myth: Wukong is an action role-playing game developed and published by Game Science. It is inspired by the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. It is scheduled to release worldwide for PlayStation 5 and Windows on August 20, 2024, with an Xbox Series X/S version slated for a later date. Pre-release, it has received generally positive reviews from critics with praise directed towards its combat, visual design, and wor ldbuilding, while criticism was aimed at its level design and technical issues.

Hogwarts legacy was good don't get me wrong but it doesn't hold a candle to Baldur's gate 3. Baldur's gate not only revived a dead genre, it had more polish, and it was innovative. Baldur's Gate deserves that win and people need to understand it.

People jumping on this "Why didn't they get nominated" thing kinda seem to think that the "Over 2 million players" thing justifies it, when most people who did play it openly said it wasn't what they really expected. It was fun, but it wasn't what they hoped. If a game is meant to be GotY, id think a game they expected to get GotY was more than they expected and hoped, not less.

GOTY dtoped meaning anything after 2020 when Ghost of Tsushima was snubbed for TLOU2 . You can see it in some YouTubers faces , that game simply was not GOTY, but they were scared to say anything due to cancel culture.

I really hope you were joking when you said Hogwarts was snubbed. The game is simply not as good as any of the other nominees that year in my opinion. Just look at the list. Even if the controversy wasn't a factor I still doubt it would have been nominated for GOTY. I feel similarly about BMW. I won't be shocked if it isn't nominated. While overall a pretty great game and an astounding first title, it has glaring weaknesses that many of the other potential nominees lack (in my opinion). Personally I hope Rebirth wins but I have a bias towards FF. I'd still be very happy with Shadow of the Erdtree, Animal Well, or Astrobot.

I would say that shadow of the erdtree shouldnât be on that list just because itâs not a game itâs a DLC granted itâs basically a second game but it is just DLC in comparison to a completely brand new game such as Black myth wukong

Just to be clear, HWL was never going to get GOTY.....BUT it didn't get a single nomination for RPG, best sound track, best voice acting......NOTHING....and THAT is surprising to me. The game was okay, I enjoyed it. But for a game that popular with good voice actors and a decent music score as well as selling as well as it did to be ignored entirely from any award is WILD to me.
