I cleaned up my 2 old notebooks after 10 and 6 years of use ... After that they were so silent that I tought I ended up broking sonething 🤣🤣

That's not bad at all. I replaced a computer at my parents house a few years ago where as soon as you shut it off, smoke would be pouring out from the PSU. To this day, I still don't know how that computer didn't catch fire.

dont forget if the case is that dirty the psu is worse. wish i could share pics i just did an old core 2 duo with enough dust to start a great fire in just the psu alone.

Back in the days when smoking was allowed in offices I opened a machine to discover an inch deep layer of ash inside. The user would push their ashtray behind the PC and the case fan would suck out the contents, straight into the case. Nice..

I worked at a computer repair shop in 2000 right after I got out of the USAF. I was dressed in a white Oxford shirt and tan pants with a tie. I replaced a pc that was beside a cabinet in a guy’s office. It was piled with books above and in front of the pc. It took about an hour and I was covered in dust bunnies and my clothes were a shade of gray. Hand down the worst computer I ever replaced

I cleaned some computers down range that probably hadn't been cleaned in years. It was so bad that it set off the fire alarm, where the fire department showed up. Lesson learned and I took the computers outside in the freezing Afghan winter to clean the rest. The dust so bad that Cpu heat sinks/fans were clogged, thermal throttling the cpu and causing errors.

I have cooler pics of that seven year old Lenovo E73 I talked about often.
I can't imagine how it cooled the cpu till now LOL.
And feel free to ask for pics, I have em ready.
Also I had to fix the motherboard of a laptop in my dad's office.
I found suspicious fluids like coffee on the board+ I opened the cooler and it was CAKED IN DUST. it almost made a new blanket out of lint ,dust and stuff LOL.

Not a PC, but when i worked in Theater Tech i had a white shirt stained by 50 year old dust (we were above the ceiling for an effect)

I had to clean PCs with huge chunks of dust, so thick you could pick them up in your hand
