My mom has been running her business for more than 24 years n what I learned from her is that she does hire slow but when that person didnt work out in their original position, she talked to them n ask them to change their position instead of let them go. I have to say 80% of her employee stayed until now, I've met so many people since they were 22 n now their kid almost hit highschool. If you treat your employee well, trust me they will bring more value to you might be not by their original position and fire fast wont make your company growth faster.

"Hire slow and fire fast" is the exact sentiment that causes bosses to constantly lay people off so they can find someone to do the same job for cheaper. Which in turn keeps employees from being loyal to the company they work for. Then the bosses wonder why their employees don't feel a sense of pride in the company they work for.
